The hand has long been one of the most powerful and meaningful subjects in my artistic research. Beyond its anatomical complexity, it represents identity, communication, creation, memory, and human presence.
This body of drawings originated from my graduation thesis in Artistic Anatomy at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin, entitled “The Hand as Symbol”, developed under the supervision of Professor Paolo Belgioioso.
Through careful observation and drawing, I explored the hand not only as a biological structure but as a universal symbol capable of expressing emotions, intentions, and psychological states. Every gesture carries a language that precedes words: hands bless, protect, create, reveal, conceal, and connect.
These drawings investigate the subtle relationship between anatomy and meaning, where scientific precision meets symbolic interpretation. The hand becomes both an object of study and a metaphor for the human condition, embodying the continuous dialogue between body, mind, and spirit.
